Suspended in the movement of a sea of sandstone, Claire Cosnefroy's bas-reliefs repeat this same gesture, that of time. With her hands, she translates the gentle and languid, sweet and acrid whispers.
CLAIRE COSNFEROY
Originally from the Cotentin Peninsula, Claire Cosnefroy began her artistic journey at the Atelier de Sèvres, then continued at ESAA Duperré in Paris. She moved fluidly between fashion and music, her path becoming a constant bridge between different places, worlds, and lives. Her encounter with clay a few years ago offered her new tools to express her creativity. From that moment on, she fully embraced this medium, developing a distinctive language through sculptural pieces in stoneware and porcelain, shaped using pinching and coiling techniques. Her practice revolves around the pursuit of instinctive gesture and swift execution, allowing her ideas to take shape spontaneously. Far from seeking perfection, she favors simple, raw forms with vibrant, organic textures. After living in Paris and Burgundy, she is now based in Arles.
