The Pedestal Collection is Zeynep Boyan Is ongoing body of work exploring form, texture, and structure. Each piece is created entirely by hand through an intuitive and slow process. Using centuries-old techniques, the collection unfolds as abstract, biomorphic studies shaped by time and touch.

ZEYNEP BOYAN

Zeynep Boyan is a Turkish-Dutch artist and designer based in Munich, working at the intersection of sculpture and design. Her practice centres on form, texture, and structure, shaped entirely by hand through traditional techniques such as coiling and pinching. With a background in cinema, she brings a strong sense of composition and spatial presence to each piece. Working primarily with stoneware clay, Boyan creates lighting, furniture, and abstract sculptures whose surfaces are left unglazed, preserving the marks of making and giving each work a distinct tactile language. Her objects recall architectural fragments and ancient forms — grounded, self-contained, guided by the material's natural behaviour rather than industrial precision. Having lived across Istanbul, Brussels, Montreal, and Munich, her work reflects a deep sensitivity to how objects inhabit and shape the spaces around them.
