L’atelier pesmois is a France based studio focused on sustainable furniture design & production born from the association of the designer and woodworker Paul Michelon with the architecture office BQ+A sharing a common desire to merge design & production. We believe craftsmanship helps us develop a better knowledge of materials and techniques of fabrication and that this knowledge feeds our creative practice in return. It also allows us to ensure a more sustainable practice by controlling the entire production chain from the forest to the delivered object.

Every act of transformation is also an act of destruction. By collectively agreeing on this fact, it is important to assess our needs carefully and accurately. We want to pay attention to nature, ecosystems, humans and their work. We are developing a small scale sustainable and local production with traditional tools and manufacturing techniques supported by industrial processes when these allow us to save resources and energy.
