[SARA MAUVILLY]

Vase made of smooth white Normandy stoneware, hand-thrown on a potter's wheel, constructed in the “moon jar” style from two assembled sections, finished with matte white and crackled glazes, fired at a high temperature of 1290°C.

Sara Mauvilly lives and works in the Paris region. She trained in ceramics for many years before opening her own studio. Her approach is deeply influenced by her early aesthetic encounters with Japanese craftsmanship, which sharpened her eye and instilled a rigorous discipline in her practice. Sara Mauvilly creates unique pieces or very limited editions. Her approach is guided by movement, emotion, and her innate sensitivity. She experiments with forms and glazes, all prepared by the ceramicist using mineral-based materials. Her free-form practice, rooted in the moment, allows her to unfold a vast universe and explore the interplay of materials and the fusion of colors.
