Enzo Bosse strives to reconnect the lost link between the earth—the subsoil, the geology, and, beyond that, the landscape that has shaped the generations who have lived there—and ceramics. His clay collections, documented through photographs and maps, provide him with a variety of materials, each type of clay possessing its own history and unique characteristics. He draws inspiration from this intimate connection with the places, the history of local communities, and the legends associated with the sites. Yet his creative process remains deeply personal. While his work readily aligns with the potter’s tradition of creating vessels, it also breaks free through its modeling and his desire to tell stories, to translate his own visions while navigating the space between figuration and abstraction.
