Oak, a portrait is a mirrorless psyche, the reflection of a personality to be contemplated without a deceptive reflection. The oak, with its many lives, displays irregularities heightened by a sculptural process that is attentive to the tree’s unique character. The piece acts as a portal to an inner world that the artist invites us to enter.
Joerg Koziol is an artist who blends an organic language, inhabited by the mystical presence of a wild nature, and a mathematical and rigorous approach. These two worlds reveal their raw beauty to one another. It is geometry that expresses the sensitive aspect of the living and the untamed nature that responds to the measured. Delicately reviling the powerful lines inside of the wooden pieces that he discovers.
