Marie Hulbert lives and works in Maine-et-Loire. She works with clay from Le Fuilet, a local resource once used to make pots for horticulture. Marie has embraced this brick-colored clay—which turns a burgundy red when fired at high temperatures—to create forms that are sometimes utilitarian or functional, or to explore the relationship between form and object. Her organic approach is centered on a controlled yet free, graphic, and lively gesture.
