BRONZE BUFFALO MOON
[PASCALE ZINTZEN]
Polished bronze sculpture. A series of 12 signed and numbered pieces.
The earth thinks and remembers. Through Pascale Zintzen’s hands and experience, it speaks. Her hands and emotions become one, united with clay and the act of creation. The artist champions a “poor art,” enriched by the wild pigments she gathers, time accumulated, the joy of childhood, and the Mediterranean atmosphere that surrounds her. For this work, the artist entrusted the casting of one of her clay sculptures to an art foundry in Spain. Each edition is cast in bronze using the lost-wax technique and showcases the excellence of exceptional artisanal craftsmanship.
Pascale Zintzen is the founder of Oikos Estudio. A multidisciplinary artist, she is based in Barcelona and the Baix Ebre region of Spain, where she lives with her two children and her dog. She expresses herself through various techniques and materials, including ceramics, tapestry, painting, and plaster. Her inspiration draws from nature and ancestral objects designed for the home. Pascale creates pieces at the intersection of functional art and sculpture. Her artistic vocabulary is rooted in her background as an archaeologist specializing in domestic ceramics.
