She draws upon geology, history, and the power of nature to create work imbued with spirituality and philosophy. Her works are the result of a convergence between a desire for abstraction and the construction of a personal narrative that unfolds over time.
JOHANNA MEYER
Rock and clay are living entities with a will of their own, which the artist accompanies with humility. Through her research and collecting, she studies the strength and unique characteristics of the minerals that make up her world. She draws upon geology, history, and the power of nature to create work imbued with spirituality and philosophy. Her works are the result of a convergence between a desire for abstraction and the construction of a personal narrative that unfolds over time. Johanna Meyer is Brazilian; she lives and works in France, in the Béarn region. She holds a National Diploma in Art (DNA) from the École Supérieure d'Art Pays Basque in Bayonne.
